Bambrough And Associates Inc. believes experience is paramount to being an effective Elevator and Escalator Consultant. Our associates have at least 20 years of industry experience, and effectively deliver quality designs and installations, and excel at problem solving equipment and contractor issues.


Garry Bambrough P.Eng., Senior Advisor (deceased)

Garry had 50+ years of elevator industry experience and was the founder of Bambrough And Associates Inc.  Former chairman of the elevator and escalator portion of the Alberta Safety Codes Council. This code committee reviews, alters and recommends for adoption of new elevator codes in Alberta.
These new codes will affect all equipment. An original founder of AEDARSA, the elevator enforcing authority in Alberta, he served as the Co-Chairman of AEDARSA for 15 years. 

Jim Brownlee P.Eng., Principal

Jim is the Principal and has 35+ years of elevator experience. He is also a registered Professional Engineer throughout most of the provinces of Canada
After working in Sales for a few years, he moved into a Superintendent / Field Management role for 10 years. Jim has spent the years since then in Elevator Consulting, with safety inspections and maintenance inspections taking the first priority. Jim is now working mainly on new projects, upgrade projects, maintenance quality evaluations. 

​Jim was the Chair of the Elevator Technical Council, and a member of the Technical Coordinating Committee for the Safety Codes Council. He was also on the Technical Standards Committee for APEGA and is a volunteer for BOMA.

J.C. Bawa P.Eng., Senior Elevator Consultant

JC has 26+ years of elevator experience.  JC spent the first 13 years of his career working with Otis Elevators in many different roles including Maintenance Supervisor, Construction Superintendent, Modernization Project Manager and Service Sales Manager.  His varying experience allows him to be proficient and well versed in all areas of the elevator business including new equipment, maintenance and modernization.
JC is currently the Chairman of the Elevator Technical Council for the Safety Code Council of Alberta. 

Douglas Warne, CEC, CEI

Doug has 50 +years of experience in the elevator industry. He is a Certified Elevator Inspector and also a Certified Elevator Constructor. His experience includes being an Elevator Mechanic, Adjuster in the field and a Field Operation Manager with OTIS. Most recently Doug was the Manager, Technical Services with AEDARSA. Doug is the former President of NAESA, the certifying organization in North America for elevator inspectors. He has been a member of several working committees with ASME and other code organization bodies.

Bruce Schmidt, B.Comm.

Bruce has 40+ years of experience in the elevator industry. Bruce worked at OTIS in varying roles from New Equipment Sales to Operations Management, Branch Management and Western Canadian Regional Management. Bruce was a Director of AEDARSA for 10 years and served on the apprenticeship board for 3 years. 

Randy Brown
 
Randy Brown is the Founder and former President of Fahrenheit 451 Fire & Security, a company he successfully built before its acquisition by Chubb Edwards in 2015. With extensive experience at industry leaders such as Grinnell Fire Protection, Mircom Technologies, and Fire Detection Services, Randy has established himself as a respected expert in fire safety and security.

He is the Executive Director of the Alberta Fire Safety Association and has contributed his expertise to several professional organizations, including the Fire Technical Council, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Canadian Condominium Institute, and the Calgary Residential Rental Association, which recognized him with a Lifetime Achievement Award.​

Today, Randy specializes in developing fire safety plans for both new and existing buildings and provides Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) reports to enhance security through thoughtful design.


Peggy Phillips, MBA. PMP.

Peggy has 25 years of elevator experience, and over 19 years experience in relationship management and B2B sales in the commercial property management industry.  Peggy is an accomplished Sales Executive and Project Manager.  She has served a blue-chip roster of clients selling complex products, services & maintenance contracts and has a strong understanding of the many challenges facing industry today. 

Peggy has been an active member of BOMA Toronto and served on its Board of Directors while heading the Public Relations Committee.  Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors for the Oakville Public Library and is the Chair of the Finance Committee. reports
